Through lenses, the 5th floor summer-time pop up at London's iconic department store resembles dining in the comic creation of a small, monochrome maze. A chic replica of the Italian fashion house's interlocked 'F' symbol is mirrored wall to wall.
I had no idea what to expect of Latvian food before my trip to Riga. Research dictated that dishes typically consisted of meat (especially pork), potatoes, fish and rye bread.
You probably haven’t heard of Kompoti (pronounced Koboti) if I told you that’s where I went in Greece. Kompoti is a peaceful quiet village in Arta, North Western Greece (part of Epirus region) surrounded by nature and away from the tourists. This is mountainous northern Greece not too far from Southern Albania and the Ionian Islands.
I’d been looking forward to travelling to Greece again for a while and this was one of my most memorable trips. Our trip to Zakynthos in 2016 had been my favourite so far so I was excited to see what more Greece had to offer. Having learned ancient Greek history in school and heard fascinating myths, I couldn't wait to see authentic Greece and how a family there lived.
Clusters of terracotta rooftops wading through the city, peering medieval church spires, gothic towers, and vehicles crawling at a distance made it feel as if we were prying over a closely knit community going about its slow life. Stretched across river Vltava, Charles Bridge connects Prague's Old Town to the 'Lesser Town' (Malá Strana).
Can you visit a foreign city in one weekend without booking annual leave from work? Yes you can, and we did exactly that. Last summer, we booked return flights to Venice in early September for £51 return from London Stansted to Venice Treviso.
Which Greek island did you visit?'
'I've never heard of it'
'I went to Zante’
'Oh! Yes, I know Zante'
